COVID-19 Response at U-Breathe Respirology Clinic and PF Lab

In response to the recent public health announcements and actions to COVID-19, my team at U-Breathe Respirology Clinic & Pulmonary Function Laboratory want to assure you that we are taking measures towards maintaining a safe environment for all our patients, staff, and physicians.
During this uncertain time, we are doing our best to provide patients with care through virtual care, testing with precautions in place, and in-clinic visits. You can read our May 2020 relaunch strategy here.
As of July 03, 2020, we are accepting routine, semi-urgent and urgent referrals for:
- Pulmonary Function Tests (Spirometry, DLCO, and plethysmography)
- Arterial Blood Gas (ABG)
- Methacholine Challenge Testing (MCT)
- Consultations with the specialist
We are continuing to monitor the situation and following best practices and guidelines of our governing college CPSA.
Our staff is committed to screening patients carefully, and to frequently disinfect all surfaces following any patient contact. Patients who come to the clinic will be expected to maintain appropriate distancing and will also have hand sanitizer available during their visit. Patients who may be at risk of having symptoms suspect to COVID-19 (dry cough, fever, fatigue/tiredness, difficulty breathing), or history of contact and/or exposure, will be asked to stay at home and follow self-isolation procedures. Those patients are asked to contact Health Link at 811, or to use the AHS online assessment COVID-19 screening tool.
We realize that there is still very much a need for diagnostic services. For this reason, we are remaining open during this time and will continue to provide patient care, especially for urgent appointments.
